It takes approximately 150 litres of bean bag filling to fill a single lounger. We recommend choosing a sustainable filling like envee beans, which are 100% plant-based, and made here in Australia. You can also buy standard polystyrene beans from all major retailers (Kmart, Big W, Target, Spotlight).
Filling Guide
1. Phone a friend – filling with bean bag filling is a 2-person job.
2. Grab the cotton insert and open the safety zips using a safety pin.
3. Fill in a plugged (dry & empty) bathtub or an enclosed area to contain any spillage.
4. When you have filled the cotton insert halfway, we suggest inserting your pillowcase into your lounger to complete the filling process. The current design does now allow the pillow insert to fit through once it is completely filled, and this may cause damage to your zipper.
5. Fill the smaller (backrest) compartment of the cotton insert first. Fill the larger (base) compartment last.
6. As you are filling, pause to close the zip and gently shake the beans into place, then re-open and repeat until full
EXTRA FILLING TIPS:
- A large funnel and a jug may be helpful for pouring the filling into the opening.
- Over time, the beans will condense and you may wish to top it up.

Fabric & Care
MACHINE WASH. Separate white, dark, and coloured materials. For best results, wash separately from other fabrics.
Wash in cold water using a mild detergent liquid or powder. Do not use hot water as it may shrink pure cotton, and potentially cause some of the dye to leak.
Do not soak, wring, bleach, or tumble. Hang to dry.
Responsibly Made
We believe that each part of the value chain is important and all steps, small and large, have an impact on people, animals and the planet.
Since day one, PHILÉ has committed itself to fostering mindful consumer habits, working with ethical manufacturers and artisans from around the world to create and manufacture micro-collections that are seasonless.
Furthermore, we have created reusable packaging made from natural cotton canvas envelope bags, embroidered with our vibrant logo and finished with a tie close - our take on the traditional art of gifting.
We are highly aware that operating a label designed for the baby market, known for its outsized environmental footprint, comes with a responsibility to do things better. And so, we strive every day to be more sustainable in every part of our business.
Our Loungers are made from OEKO-TEX Certified Cotton Twill, a worldwide consistent, independent testing and certification system for raw, semi-finished and finished textile products at all processing levels. To obtain a OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certification, the cotton needs to be free from more than 100 substances known to be harmful to human health.
